Pumpkin Patch Out of School Care believes in creating a positive and welcoming atmosphere where children are involved in the decision-making and problem solving processes. Children interests are observed by the staff and are then incorporated into our planning. Our OSC students have the choice to engage in planned activities, free play, or just relax and socialize with friends. We believe that after a buy school day, children need a safe and comfortable place to unwind and do what is meaningful to them. Our students are encouraged to respect themselves, each other and the environment by taking responsibility for their own bahaviour and choices. OSC students in our program and are involved in creating expectations for the program and are encouraged to communicate their ideas. At Pumpkin Patch, we encourage our children to take ownership of the program through their choices in order to contribute to their feelings of belonging.
Our accredited Out Of School Care and Kindergarten programs offer children a home away from home where they can play, learn and grow at their own pace. Children are encouraged to explore their world and challenge themselves each day with new experiences and activities.
Planning is child lead and process oriented, focusing on the children's interests.
